A must visit for any family vacationing in KL. It is huge and you will have to walk all the way. But since it is shaded in most part, there won't be m ch problem even on hot days. Start from your right and go to the left from there. Look out for the timing of bird feeding especially kites and eagles for they r a spectacle. And of course the bird show is a must. Go early and occupy a good seat in front rows. Food and water available, but a bit pricey. The gift shops are moderately priced. Best was watching the peacocks in their most majestic glory.

Touch the nature from near!! Amazing to stay close with birds. Birds dont fear of people here. You can feed them and have close pics. They have created a net all over so birds can stay inside and you may enjoy closeness with them. Charge your camera before going to this park. You might also need a bigger capacity SD Card. Atmosphere remains humid due to climate and park being mostly on wet soil.

Nature experience at it's very best. Free flying and roaming birds within a huge net canopy. Great learning opportunity for the kids. You can see exotic tropical birds up close in their habitat. Always the chance for an encounter with a the great hornbill. The cafe is very cozy and serves some super satay.

Located in the serene and scenic Kuala Lumpur Lake Gardens, it is only 10 minutes drive away from the city centre of Kuala Lumpur. It is the home to more than 3,000 birds of approximately 200 species of local and foreign birds. Sprawling approximately 20.9 acres of verdant valley terrain, the park is divided into 4 zones; Zone 1 and 2 make up the free-flight zone; Zone 3 is the Hornbill Park and Zone 4 is where the birds are placed in separate cages and mini aviaries. One of KL Bird Park's most extraordinary feature is that in Zone 1, 2 and 3, birds are let free in the aviary which closely resembles their natural habitat. With this free-flight concept, birds are able to breed naturally in this unique environment. Visitors will have an exciting experience of watching colourful and melodic birds perching and winging about freely while relaxing in a natural and beautifully landscaped surrounding. KL Bird Park is also reputed to be the largest walk-in free-flight aviary in the world.

They say it is the largest bird atrium in the world, if it is not; it must be close to the biggest. In essence they have put a huge net over half the park and then let the birds roam around, so you can get really close! Easy to spend 1-2 hours there, if you are keen photographer then you will need longer. There is a show at the far end of the park which is worth watching (and gives you sometime to cool off in the shade as KL is quite hot!). Definitely worth a visit! Simplest way to get there is to take a taxi there and back.
