  Last Thursday evening, 29th Oct 2015, I went for the hair colouring offer (Henna). My hair is black and dark, naturally a virgin hair. I told the boss this and she assured me that my hair will be dark brown after the coloring. In her words as I recalled it, “it will be dark brown. Maybe not so light brown kind of brown, but closer to black” – all the while she was stroking my hair gently, assuring me how great I’d look in dark brown hair and how naturally soft my virgin hair is. As I gathered from her carefully structured words that “it will be dark brown”, I trusted her expert opinion and went ahead and did the coloring. After it was done, however, I do not see a single change in my hair color. It is still as dark as ever, and still black; not even a tinge of brown can be seen. I went back the next day to negotiate respectfully, but was told off in a defensive manner that I was duly warned that this would happen and that they had only two colour options available: dark brown and black. Let’s put it this way: if you are the experts and you knew, clearly knew, that the chances of my very black hair changing colour would be close to 0% due to the fact that my hair is so black and that you only had two very dark colours on hand, would it not be your responsibility to fully ensure that I was fully informed of the consequences? I believe that it is my consumer rights to be well informed before making such a decision. I cannot ascertain her motives but what I can testify is the very fact that I felt really cheated from the experience. I was then told that after a few wash, the colour might come out. As it has been several days now, my hair is still as black as ever. If they are professionals and experienced with henna hair dyes, they would have known that the colour will not show on my hair. Then it seems that they were not truthful and honest when selling services. However, assuming that they did not know that the colour will not show, then it would mean that they are inexperienced in their hair dying services. I’ll be fair to say that their eyebrow services are fine. However, I would advise against the Henna hair dye.
