  Bank of China established its first branch in Malaysia in 1939 and subsequently ceased operations in 1959. Bank of China (Malaysia) Berhad also has a subsidiary company handling China visa applications namely, China Bridge (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (formerly known as China Visa Services (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd) in Kuala Lumpur.
