::The Governors Museum (formerly known as Seri Melaka) is a museum in Melaka City, Melaka, Malaysia. It was the official residence of the Dutch Governor of Melaka in the 17th century. The function of the building continued during the English period until independence. In September 1996, the official residence and office of His Excellency moved from Bukit St. Paul to Melaka Palace in Bukit Beruang, Melaka. The functions of His Excellency's Institution (TYT) as the Supreme Government of the State are displayed to recall the existence of this institution. The Museum Principal featured on the Brief History of the Sultanate Institution, the Formation of the Governor's Establishment to the Role and Institution of HE. In general, the role of the Chief Minister of Malacca is also infused because their role is of no importance in leading the state government. The main focus will be on the Governor / Chief of Staff after independence who has served in Malacca from Tun Leong Yew Koh (First Governor), Tun Haji Abdul Malek bin Haji Yusuf (Second Governor), Tun Haji Abdul Aziz bin Abdul Majid (Third Governor), Tun Syed Zahiruddin bin Syed Hassan (Fourth Governor), and Tun Syed Ahmad Shahabudin Al-Haj (5th Fifth) by displaying various personal collections belonging to His Excellency. The exhibition in this museum retains part of the use of the original building space. Apart from that, he also highlighted the contribution of HE to the development of the state such as industrialization, agriculture, tourism, administration, religion, etc. which grew from time to time while assisted by every Chief Minister under his leadership in developing the state of Melaka.
